Begüm Demir received the B.S. degree in 2005, the M.Sc. degree in 2007, and the Ph.D. degree in 2010, all in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering from Kocaeli University, Turkey. In 2005, she joined KULIS (Kocaeli University Laboratory of Image and Signal processing) as a researcher and she was a research assistant at the same department of Kocaeli University during 2006-2010. She was a visiting researcher in Remote Sensing Laboratory at University of Trento, Italy from March 2009 to September 2009 during her Ph.D. She is currently a Post Doc researcher at the Remote Sensing Laboratory in the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science, University of Trento. Her main research interests include image processing and machine learning with applications to remote sensing image analysis. She is a referee for the IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing and ISPRS Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. |
